Hey Everyone, I’m Richard and yes, I’m one of those people who have lost weight, put it back on again and then had the struggle to get rid of it all again !
If you’re anything like me, I guess you’ve been there too and as we get older, find it a little trickier to lose that extra weight gain.
My Journey …
I guess it all started in the late nineties when I was working in a high stress sales job and due to lots of travelling around and rubbish eating patterns, I ballooned to around 18 stone.
Fast forward a few years, I was made redundant from a very stressful job and after a couple of years of hard work and determination I managed to lose 5 stone.
Although initially I tried hard to keep the weight off, we kept having the occasional treats (which isn’t a bad thing), like going out for a meal and then starting to eat what I wanted and before I knew it, I’d put a couple of stone back on !!!
We had a friends wedding coming up at the end of 2016 and my wife, being my wife, decided it was again time to shed a few extra pounds, so I joined her in the journey …. Almost a year later and back losing that couple of stone weight gain, it kind of brings me to where I am now.
As you can see, I gained weight, lost it, put it back on again and then lost it again – but something different has changed.
I think many of you will be able to relate to a yoyo weight loss, of trying lots of different diet plans one after the other, but the difference this time … is attitude and mainly my attitude to living a healthier life style !
You have to make the positive decision to say, look, I want to lose the weight and keep it off for good …
And then every decision you make, must be based around keeping the weight off (or at the very least maintaining it)!
I don’t want to be the boring person that says you must do this and you must do that (everyone has to make that decision for themselves) and I guess that’s really brought me to the creation of this ‘Healthy Living’ lifestyle website.
I’ll happily partake my thoughts and musings on what’s working for me and then you can make the decision whether or not you’d like to give a certain something a try.
My wish for this site is that I hope at the very least, you enjoy reading my blog posts and if nothing else, get a few ideas that you can take away and consider using yourself.
This site is updated on a regular basis, as I come across new ‘ideas’ and ‘information’, that I feel will be useful to you, so please check by often.
I’m here to interact with everyone too – So please share you successes, as well as your struggles, so I can support you in the tough times, as well as the good !
